This sermon talks about the journey towards final destination heaven. We should not focus on the worldly things but focus on the Kingdom of Heaven. Our journey to heaven will not be easy and there will be trials and temptations. Our personal desires should never get in the way of what God wants us to do in us and through us, as it says in Colossians 3:5, “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”
We as believers should be ready and prepared for the judgement seat of Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:10 says, “ For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”
We must strip off the stuff that separates us from God. Our priority should be God. As believers of Christ we make decisions that make us appear different from everybody else. Hebrews 11:24-26 shows us the example of how Moses chose to be mistreated with the people of God rather than enjoy the sinful pleasures of being the child of Pharaoh’s daughter. The more we entertain sin, the more we close off the Holy Spirit and his conviction.
We should run with endurance because the Christian life needs endurance due to the struggles and judgement of choosing to accept Jesus Christ as our saviour.
Keep your eyes on the prize, Jesus Christ.
