This sermon comes from the book of James chapter 4. We cannot assume what happens in our lives next because we don’t know. We should not live in assumptions thinking we are in control of our lives. We need to surrender ourselves to God because all happens in God’s will. We have no control over what happens tomorrow that is why it is important to involve God every step of the way for we need him. Our future is in God’s hand. However James is not saying we should not make plans but every plan we make we are to surrender it to God. Psalm 90:10 says, “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.” Life is too short to not involve God in all we do.

We are to live our lives with purpose and intentionality, Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” we should ask ourselves, “How am I gonna make the most out of this day?” We should strengthen our relationships, make peace and love one another for we don’t know at what moment we will depart this world.

We should put our spiritual house in order. We need to build a relationship and our faith in Jesus and trust in all that happens is God’s will and for his Glory.
