From our humble beginnings in 2008, where five people gathered in the home of our founding Pastor, to reaching heights of almost 1,000 people who call the Ocean home by end of 2019, our vision and mission have remained the same: “To lead people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, where they become passionately committed to knowing Him and making Him known”.
This place we call home started with a dream, a vision, to plant a Church that would advance the Great Commission by reaching out to the disenfranchised and the many ethnic, national, and socioeconomic backgrounds represented in Dar es Salaam.
Our Journey
In the past two years however, with the impact of the pandemic, the church took a significant hit and our finances were significantly impacted. The work of God however did not stop; during the pandemic more than 240 people received Christ; we supported water sanitization projects across Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, and Pwani; we helped build a church in Iringa and carried out 52 outreach activities in hospitals and prisons.
With all this and as a result of the pandemic, a huge dent was left in our finances. Our attendance numbers dropped by nearly 50% since we reopened and that has not allowed us to regain the momentum we had pre-covid.

We know God is not done with the Ocean Church! God is still doing a new thing in our midst and He wants to use His people to rebuild his church, reach the lost, preach the gospel and change lives for eternity.
The vision is clear, workers are ready, the harvest is ready, all we need is for the people of God to faithfully steward their finances and support the vision.

From the month of April to June 2022, the goal is to raise USD 100,000 which will boost funds to meet monthly operational expenses, close the deficit from the last few years and continue important outreach activities in our community and beyond.
