In Psalm 100 the psalmist reminds us, why do we praise the Lord and how should we express our praise to the Lord.

We praise the Lord because the Lord is good. Our God is real and almighty. In 1 Kings 18 we read the story of Prophet Elijah and how he was sent by God to show the Israelites the evil they were doing by worshipping their god, baal. In this story we see how the Lord shows himself as the most powerful when the altar prepared by Elijah burns, even when water is already poured all over it.

We are not accidents, God wanted us to be here. He made us in our mothers womb. He knew us before we were even born. Your value is not determined by what people say. Psalm 100:3 says,Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his;  we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”

The Lord is good and his steadfast love endures forever.Psalm 100:5, “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

How can we praise the Lord? We can praise God by making joyful noises to the Lord. Singing with joy and by giving thanksgiving. Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”
