The Whatsapp group is for daily prayer reminders. Only administrators will have access to post. The group will allow prayer requests on Tuesdays only.

The bible tells us to pray for all things – and to pray without ceasing. In these 21 days we hope to experience what that looks like. We are trusting God to develop in all of us a heart for prayer and intercession for others. We will call on God for our church, nation, leaders, children, jobs, and ourselves – that God may move in the physical needs as well as in the spiritual needs.

Day One | Sunday 10th July

Pray for the power of the Holy Spirit

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” – Ephesians 3:14 – 16.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

God has promised us one thing through His exalted Son Jesus; He has one gift to His Church; and the Church desperately needs this gift; and that is, the power of the Holy Spirit. Make it your one prayer today.


As you pray ask as simply and trustfully as a child asks for bread from their parent.
* Pray that the Spirit of God gives you childlike faith.
* Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit.


Pray for a specific area in your life where you need the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Day Two | Monday 11th July

Pray for the Spirit of Supplication

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” – Romans 8:26.

“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.” – Zechariah 12:10.

As believers we seem to have forgotten the prevailing power and effectiveness of prayer. Considering that we are called to make Christ known to the entire world, we cannot ignore that we need the help of the Holy Spirit. It is only when we fully surrender to God and empty our hearts, that the Holy Spirit will be able to manifest in us and through us.


* Pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of Supplication upon yourself and the people of The Ocean Church.

* Pray for the outpouring of the Spirit on the Church in Tanzania.


Set apart time for supplication during these next 20 days.

Day Three | Tuesday 12th July 

Pray for all believers 

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6: 18.

Every member of a body is interested in the welfare of the whole and exists to help and complete the others. Believers are one body, and ought to pray, not so much for the welfare of their own church or society, but for all believers. This selfless love is the proof that Christ’s Spirit is teaching us to pray.


* Pray for all the believers around you to be alert and to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

* Ask God to give you the burden to pray for other believers.


 Devote time this week to specifically pray for fellow believers.

Day Four | Wednesday 13th July

Pray for personal needs

 “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

Day Five | Thursday 14th July

Pray for the Spirit of Holiness 

“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy” – 1 Peter 1:15-16

God is the Holy One. And we as His people are a holy people because He is the One who makes us Holy. Jesus prayed “sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth”. When we look at our lives and the current condition of the world, it may seem as though it is impossible for us to walk in holiness. However, we must remember that the things that are impossible with men are possible with God. Prayer is not only wishing, or asking, but believing in the power of who we pray to.


* Pray for the Spirit of Holiness in your personal life and the Church as a whole.

* Pray for the people in your family, workplace, and neighbourhood to experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.


Think of two people, their special needs, weakness, or sin, and pray that God may make them desire to be holy and ignite the fire inside them to desire to be transformed.

Day Six | Friday 15th July

Pray that God’s people may be kept from the world 

“I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.  My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.  They are not of the world, even as I am not of it”. John 17:11, 15, 16.

In the last night before His crucifixion, Christ prayed for three things for His disciples: that they might be kept as those who are not of the world; that they might be sanctified; that they might be one in love. Jesus knew and understood the troubles we would face as believers striving to live a holy life in an evil world. With so much news and information circulating 24/7 through social media, it can seem impossible to block out the views of the world.


* Pray for sanctification of the Church.

* Pray that we may be one in love and hold each other accountable.

* Pray for strength to resist the temptation of the world.


* As a believer, is your life any different from the world?

* Is there anything you need to let go that is hindering your from living a life which is set apart from the world?

Take time to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas in your life that are not in alignment with the word of God. Write down what you hear Him saying.

Day Seven | Saturday 16th July

Pray for the Power of the Holy Spirit on Ministers of the Gospel & Church Leaders

“I urge you, brothers, and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.” – Romans 15 :30.

“He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us. As you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.” – 2 Corinthians 1:10 -11.

Paul wrote to the church in Corinth and asked them to pray for him along with all those who were serving God with him. As much as we believe our leaders in the church to be divinely anointed, they face persecution, temptation and hardship just as much as any other believer. It is important that we constantly cover them in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to continue to pour into them so that they can pour into the church and those they are leading. Do not think you have no influence, or that your prayer does not matter. Irrespective of where you are in your walk with Christ, your prayer and faith can make a difference.


* Pray for all your Pastors, ministry leaders and those serving in the church. 

* Ask God to fill them with the power of the Holy Spirit, that would enable them and strengthen them to continue the good work that God has started in them.


Set apart time to pray for the pastors and leaders in your church by name. Make it a habit to keep them in your prayers every week.

Day Eight | Sunday 17th July

Pray for the Spirit to convict the world of Sin

“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment” – John 1:7-8
God’s one desire, the one object of Christ’s being manifested, is to take away the power of sin. The first work of the Spirit on the world is the conviction of sin. Without that, there will be no deep or abiding revival.


* Pray that the gospel may be preached in such power of the Spirit, that all men and women who hear will be convicted of the sin in their lives.
* Pray for conviction of sin in the church.


Ask God to reveal areas in your life that are dominated by sin and surrender them to Him.

Day Nine | Monday 18th July

Pray for more labourers

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:37-38

What a remarkable call of the Lord Jesus for help from His disciples in getting the need supplied. What an honor put upon prayer. What a proof that God wants prayer and will hear it. Ask Him to make Himself known to you as the faithful mighty God, who works all in all; and may you be encouraged to believe that He can give suitable and sufficient labourers for the Church. The work is God’s. He can give the right workman. But He must be asked and waited on.


* Pray that God would send laborers to our Church.
* Pray for all students at The Ocean School of Ministry, and Bible institutes, to be
well equipped and ready to be sent forth.


* In what area have you been called to be a labourer in the Kingdom of God?

* Have you responded to the call to serve God in your local church? If not, what is stopping you?

Day Ten | Tuesday 19th July

Pray for God’s Spirit on our mission work

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” – Acts 13:2-3.

Just as God called Barnabas and Saul to missionary work, He is still calling people in the church today to go out and do His Kingdom work. We are not only called to minister to those around us, in our home church, our communities, or our families. God also calls us to GO out, out of our comfort zones, out of our cities and countries and spread the  Gospel. Through fasting and prayer, we can hear whom the Spirit is calling and in obedience respond to that call. It is a Spirit-filled, praying Church that will send out Spirit-filled missionaries.


* Pray that our mission work may all be done in this Spirit – waiting on God, hearing the voice of the Spirit, sending forth men and women with fasting and praying.
* Pray that in our churches our mission interest and mission work may be in the power of the Holy Spirit and of prayer.
* Pray that God would send many women and men from our church to go plant Churches.


Pray and ask God how you can be part of the mission work in your church and write down what He says to you.

Day Eleven | Wednesday 20th July

Pray for personal needs

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” – Matthew 7:7-11

Day Twelve | Thursday 21st July

Pray for the Church of the future and for schools and colleges

So each generation should set its hope anew on God not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands. Then they will not be like their ancestors— stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God.” – Psalms 78:7-8

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.” – Isaiah 44:3.

The future of the Church and the world depends, very much on the education of today. The Church may be seeking to evangelise to the lost and meanwhile handing over our own children to secular and materialistic influences. It is important that we keep the future generation in mind and in constant prayer.


* Pray and ask the Lord to be with each of His children as they grow up and that they may love the Lord from a young age.
* Pray against secular and materialistic influences on our children.
* Pray for Godly parents, teachers, and caretakers, to stand in their position and
do the work they’ve been called to.


Think of one school, college, or university, and pray for the Holy Spirit’s power to move in that school for the next 10 days.

Day Thirteen | Friday 22nd July

Pray for Kings and Rulers

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

What a faith in the power of prayer! Let us believe that prayer is a power that is taken up by God in His rule of the world. When God’s people unite in prayer, they may count upon their prayers effecting in the unseen world more than they know. Let faith hold this fast.


* Pray for the Government of Tanzania and its leaders that they may lead with integrity and fear of the Lord.
* Pray for all the leaders of the world; for leaders in cities or districts in which we are interested.


Think of one government leader and commit to praying for them for the rest of
this fast.

Day Fourteen | Saturday 23rd July

Pray for the Holy Spirit in Your Own Work

“To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me” –Colossians 1:29

You have your own special work; make it a work of intercession. Paul laboured, striving according to the working of God in him. Remember, God is not only the Creator but the Great Workman, who works all in all. You can only do your work in His strength, by His working in you through the Spirit. Intercede much for those among whom you work, till God gives you a burden for them. Let us all intercede too for each other, for every worker throughout God’s Church.


* Pray that God may give you influence in your place of work.
* Pray that God’s power may be revealed through you to those you work with.


Do the people in your place of work know that you love the Lord? Tell one person in your place of work about Jesus today.

Day Fifteen | Sunday 24th July

Pray for the Spirit of Love in the Church

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one, I in them and you in me, so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” – John 17:22, 23

“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,” – Colossians 2:2

Believers are one in Christ, as He is one with the Father. The love of God rests on them and can dwell in them.


* Pray that the power of the Holy Ghost may so work this love in all believers, that the world may see and know God’s love in us.
* Pray that there may be love and collaboration in the Church in Tanzania.


Commit to pray for unity and love at The Ocean Church.

Day Sixteen | Monday 25th July

Pray for the power of the Holy Spirit in our Future Generation Ministry

“But this is what the Lord says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.” – Isaiah 49:25

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4: 14,16

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

Every part of the work of God’s Church is His work. He must do it. Prayer is the confession that He will – the surrender of ourselves into His hands to let Him – work In us and through us. Pray for the hundreds of thousands of Sunday School teachers, that those who know God may be filled with His Spirit. Pray for the nursery, pre-school, primary, pre-teens and youth ministries at the Ocean. Pray for the salvation of the children.


* As we pray for our children, lets us pray boldly, as young as they are, the Lord can still use them to do great and mighty things for His Kingdom.
* Pray and ask the Lord to be with each of His children as they grow up and that they may love the Lord from a young age.

Day Seventeen | Tuesday 26th July

Pray for God’s Spirit on the lost souls

“Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.” – Romans 10:1

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” – 1 Timothy 2:1,3-4

Think of millions who will die this year without knowing Christ. If Christ gave His life for them, will you not do so? You can give yourself up to intercede for them. Just begin; God’s Spirit will draw you on. Persevere, however feeble you are. Can anything be nobler than to do as Christ did? Give your life for the lost.


* Pray for the lost, who still don’t know the Lord.


Is there anyone you know in your family, friend circle or workplace who needs an encounter with God? Is there a burden in your heart for this person/people? Pray for them. If nobody comes to mind, ask the Holy Spirit to place a burden on your heart for the lost. If someone comes to mind, write down their name and consistently set apart time and pray for them this week.

Day Eighteen | Wednesday 27th July

Pray for personal needs

“Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” – Psalm 34:9-10.

Day Nineteen | Thursday 28th July

Pray that God’s people may realise their calling

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” – Genesis 12:2-3.

Abraham was only blessed that he might be a blessing to all the earth. Israel prays for blessing, that God may be known among all nations. Every believer, just as much as Abraham, is only blessed that he may carry God’s blessing to the world. If this truth were preached and believed and practiced, what a revolution it would bring in our mission work. What a host of willing intercessors we should have. Plead with God to work it by the Holy Spirit.


* Cry to God that His people may know their calling and that every believer is only to live for the interests of God and His kingdom.
* Pray that God may give Christians the boldness to live out their calling.


Do you truly know the purpose and calling God has placed on your life? Have you fully surrendered your life to be completely used by God or are there areas you are still holding back?

Day Twenty | Friday 29th July

Pray for the Spirit of Intercession

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be
silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest.” –
Isaiah 62:6.

“And repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” – Luke 24:47.

Your home church, the Ocean should have a special claim on your intercession. Let it be a settled matter between God and you that you are to labor in prayer on its behalf. Pray for the pastors, all leaders and workers at the Ocean. Pray for the believers according to their needs. Pray for conversions. Pray for the power of the Spirit to manifest itself. When the glory of God, and the love of Christ, and the need of souls are revealed to us, let intercession be a continuous habit in our church, carried on as systematically as preaching. And pray, expecting an answer.


* Ask the Holy Spirit to ignite the desire in your heart to pray continuously for your church, pastors, all the leaders and workers.


Continue to pray for your church even after this fasting period. Make it a habit.
